Streaming features with Windows Media 9
With the new Windows Media Services 9 software we can offer an incredibly flexible way in which to broadcast media.
The traditional models of ondemand or live streaming have been augmented with some exciting new methods.
- Server side playlists
create playlists on the server which can be combined to offer a pseudo live stream
or a broadcast which starts at the beginning for each user.
- Dynamic playlists
Use scripting languages such as PHP or asp to dynamiccaly create your playlists
- Advertising
Easily add interstitial or wrapper adverts to your media playlists
- Mix content in playlists
You can use a wide varety of sources for your playlists, files, remote broadcast points, live feeds, on demand files and even other playlists
- Loop or shuffle playlists
All playlists can be setup to loop continuously or randomly or both!
- Dolby 5.1 Surround sound
The Windows media 9 platform offers surround sound streaming for the first time.
